What is YIG?
  • Youth in Government Day is a field trip opportunity designed for students to spend the day at City Hall and see first-hand the operations of city government through department tours, demonstrations and interactive activities. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange dialogue with peers and ask City staff about potential career paths in public service.
  • Free lunch and transportation are included!
Who should apply?
  • High school students who are engaged, demonstrate leadership qualities, are interested in government, or perhaps interested in a public service career.
How do I sign-up?
  • The sign up process for the students is simple – complete this easy application form before the deadline of March 23rd.
  • If you are selected as one of the 30 attendees then you will be required to complete a field trip permission slip and a liability waiver.
